"twelve yrs of togetherness"

The institution of marriage was started with an objective that a man and a woman might learn how to love, and in loving know  "Joy"....

That a man and a woman might learn how to share pain and loneliness, and in sharing know  "Strength"....

That a man and a woman might learn how to give, and in giving know the "act of sharing" or "holding in common"....

The institution of marriage began so that a man and a  woman, through their Joy, through their Strength and through their act of sharing might become creator of life itself....

Marriage therefore is a high and holy state to be held in honour among all men and women....!!!

As a married man i never made tall claims about my conjugal relationship, but off course there were moments which we did enjoyed with each other and now i feel that a relation which started as a mere social contract, remains a closely guarded contract for the better part of our lives that we are enjoying in this universe.

I am not saying that it has been a "happily married life" through out, because at times there were problems for us as well. Some times a living together did looked like a struggle together for a better living. And during these many years of our marriage, we resolved problems more than enjoying conjugal bliss...

And today when we have completed twelve years together in this social contract, and the next generation is quietly developing in our cots. Our union is solely aimed at grooming them well now, with personal whims and fantasies sacrificed in the attar of life...

As twelve years passed today, hopefully many more to follow, yet struggle continues... And still comrade-in-arms with me to share all joys and sorrow about to come...

So you may bless her at-least,  for all her support to me during all ups n downs of the day-to-day life and for  tolerating me so far in this institution of marriage....
(after 12 yrs of "wear n tear" in struggle together)

I have my parents to look up to for the many years they've been together... my siblings weren't as lucky though...and I am still single...

Thank you...you're among the few who witness beautifully to the sacrament of marriage...

and I thank God you've found in your wife everything you hoped for...

The struggles are always there...but you magnified the values of joy, strength and fidelity instead of your weaknesses...

  20. For an unmarried – it is easy to say; “keep the bond strong” but the one in it actually knows what it takes.

  41. Hello.
I've been going through your blog posts & this one caught my eye.

I'm a firm believer in the institution of marriage. My wife & I have been married for almost 10 years. She is my home...she's the one I turn to when the trials & tribulations of life become too much to bear & it's her open arms I run to when I need a shoulder to cry on. We've been through good & bad times and the hurdles we've had to overcome have only strengthened our union. I cannot imagine life without her.

A marriage of longevity requires a lot of love, patience, understanding, honesty, respect & knowing when to be quiet! (lol) People nowadays are too eager to give up on marriage at the first sign of trouble. My in-laws recently celebrated 50 years of marriage!

You've set the foundation too for your children who stand much better chance at love and marriage when they see how their parents behave towards each other.

    Nice photos.
Many belated congratulations. Many you have many more enjoyable years together & continue to grow in love!

Thanks for taking the time to visit. I appreciate it.
